Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 3 verse 18: Neither from actions done nor from actions not yet done has he any profit to gain; he has no need of any living creature for any purpose whatsoever.
Action precludes fruit. Having gained fulfillment in action alone — through Brahma's fulfilling nature infusing all actions taken in serving others' desires (3.17) — 'profit' from action has neither purpose nor allure. Profit from action is trivial and for the unrealized. One is truly Self-reliant through action alone and one 'has no need of any living creature for any purpose whatsoever.'
